I love the old-fashioned look of this scarf! It's made of a heavy homespun-feeling muslin (?) and measures 16" x 42" including crocheted edge. It's embroidered on both ends with pale gold and tan butterflies and tiny fragile violets. On one end a butterfly is casting an interested look at a woven basketful of the tiny lavender flowers. The embroidery is very tidy and nicely done. It looks as if the seamstress did some discreet "painting" inside the wings of the butterflies to add color without adding the bulk of satin stitch.
There are a couple of stains, one noticeable, the other you have to look for, but I would think a good soaking in Oxyclean would help that immensely.
This is such a sweet creation that it deserves a chance to have a place to be seen and enjoyed once again!
